Conditions of Sale
Thank you for choosing Stevens Furniture for your
home furnishing needs. We always strive to exceed our
customers' expectations from the time a customer calls or comes
into our store until they receive their order. To help ensure
customer satisfaction, we ask that you read carefully our
conditions of sale. If you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to ask; we hope that our list of policies will
eliminate any possible misunderstandings after your furniture
is ordered.
- All orders are entered with the manufacturer(s)
after either a 50% or 100% payment, depending on the
manufacturer. When a 50% deposit is made, the customer is
invoiced for the remaining balance after the furniture arrives
in our warehouse. To facilitate the prompt shipment of all
items, Stevens Furniture will request the following information:
a shipping address (route and box numbers are not sufficient),
a home telephone number, and a business telephone number. The
shipping company is responsible for notifying the customer
prior to delivery of the customer's furniture.
- Periodically, manufacturers increase their prices. However, Stevens Furniture will guarantee its prices on any items quoted. Our prices are firm for 15 ffom the dated quoted.
- Requests to cancel orders are allowed only when
the manufacturer agrees to the cancellation. Once fabric is cut
or items are shipped, cancellations are not allowed under any
circumstances. It is the customer's responsibility to verify that
furniture purchased meets size, color, and functional
expectations.
- Occasionally, furniture is damaged during
shipping. Stevens Furniture will assist you in providing the
freight company with information necessary for documenting
freight damage. We will work with the shipping company to
ensure that damaged furniture is repaired to manufacturer's
specifications.
- In the event you discover a manufacturer's defect
in your furniture, Stevens Furniture will request a written
letter explaining the nature of the defect and pictures showing
the defect itself. Stevens will work with the manufacturer and
the customer to either repair or replace defective furniture.
The manufacturer retains sole discretion in determining if
furniture is either repaired or replaced.
- All furniture sold from the Stevens Furniture
showroom is sold in "as-is condition."
- North Carolina sales tax is collected only on
shipments that are made within North Carolina, or when
out-of-state customers pick-up furniture from our store.
- Customers must remit any remaining balances within
15 days of the invoice date. Failure to remit unpaid balances
within this time frame will result in furniture returned to
stock for re-sale. If final payment is not made after 30 days,
the customer forfeits his or her deposit.
- Manufacturers do not guarantee fabrics against
wear or color fastness.
- We customarily use an in-home delivery service to
ship your furniture. This service includes uncartoning,
inspecting, blanket wrapping, delivery notification,
delivery, and set-up in your home.
